I have consciously stopped watching and reading political news as they tend to be filled with wars, conflicts, violence and suffering of all kinds. Now, that doesn't mean that I ignore the world's current affairs and that I live in a delusional bubble of butterflies and unicorns and such. I am simply trying not to feed on negative news that I can't do anything about. I stay informed but I focus on finding opportunities, no matter how small, to focus on making a positive change. Here's one and it's definitely not small:

Important date for your diary! In two days's time, Deepak Chopra and Gabrielle Bernstein will lead a global meditation for peace, an event set to become the largest global meditation to date.

Many people still underestimate the power of consciousness and we may often feel like we don't have enough personal power to make a difference. Well, wrong. Drops of water make an ocean, single trees make a forest and so on.

Surely then the joint intention of peace by millions of people worldwide at the exact same moment in time has got to make some magic real!

The meditation begins on Friday 8 August 2014 at noon EST, that's 5pm if you are in London like me, or check your local time zone. Hop over here or here to joint the #iampeace movement and, together, let's make history. Once you signed up, help spread the word and share the event with your friends, family and on all your favourite media platforms.
