NEW MOON: BEATING RESISTANCE

I have just finished reading Steven Pressfield's book "The War of Art". In like five minutes. Seriously, I just couldn't get enough of this genius little book! See quote above. Of course, writing could be substituted by pretty much anything. Running. Piano practice. Work. Yoga. Insert your own.

Let's talk yoga. You suffer from lower back pain. You know that there are things that you could do to help relieve the pain -- like this simple yoga routine for lower back -- but for some reason you just don't do it.

Or you do do it. Once in a while. But nowhere near often enough to make a difference to your pain. The reason why you don't do the things you know would make you feel better, the things you even actively want to do, is resistance. Ha!

The solution to beating resistance is discipline. Showing up every day. Making it a habit to do what you've got to do. The rewards are sweet.

Tomorrow is new moon. You know the drill -- new moon, new beginnings, planting seeds. And so on. Perfect time for creating some new habits. In fact, new moon or not, the perfect time to start beating resistance is actually now.

So, whatever it is that you want to do, just do it. No frills. Just do it! Wear your favourite clothes. Get out your favourite talisman. Put your favourite music on. And then -- JUST DO IT!
