DAY 13 // PUJA

I am currently exploring Bhakti Yoga, or Yoga of devotion. Love for love's sake. A means of staying present and aware. Of giving my practice another dimension.

Creating pujas, or altars, is another layer of the practice of Yoga. To honour our teachers. The divine. The ultimate truth.

Wikipedia offers a couple of definitions of puja that I'd like to share here:

Traditionally, "puja is a religious ritual performed by Hindus as an offering to various deities, distinguished persons, or special guests."

Perhaps more relevantly to our modern age, another paragraph explains that "puja is a meditation, it is a yoga. A means to reach the state of total oneness."

What's your view on puja, and other devotional practices? Yes or no? Why, why not? I'd love to hear from you!
